A high-level team from Tezpur Central University recently visited the newly upgraded Mushalpur Higher Secondary School in Baksa district to assess its operational infrastructure and guide its transformation into a model institution under the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Education Department.
The visit follows the BTR administration’s strategic initiative to elevate select regional schools into center-of-excellence institutions. The visiting delegation, comprising senior professors and academic experts from Tezpur University, evaluated the school’s existing facilities, including its science laboratories, digital learning tools, and overall educational resources, ensuring they align with modern instructional standards.
During an interactive session with the school’s faculty, management committee, and local guardians, the university representatives emphasized the importance of fostering a research-driven and analytical mindset among students from an early stage. They recommended specialized training modules for teachers to effectively implement the National Education Policy (NEP) guidelines, focusing on skill development and experiential learning rather than rote memorization.
Furthermore, the BTR Education Department’s Executive Member, Rwngwra Narzary, who joined the session, reiterated the administration’s commitment to systematically addressing infrastructure deficits and teacher shortages across schools in the region. He stated that a comprehensive monitoring system is being established to track academic progress and ensure accountability. Local community leaders and parents expressed deep appreciation for the initiative, noting that the university’s mentorship would significantly uplift the educational landscape of Mushalpur and its neighboring areas.
