NFSA Beneficiaries to Receive Timely Supply of Masur Dal and Sugar

Assam Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Minister Kaushik Rai has reviewed the state’s preparedness for the distribution of masur dal and sugar to beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). During a review meeting held at Janata Bhawan in Dispur, the Minister assessed the progress of the scheme and examined the procurement, supply and distribution mechanisms to ensure the smooth delivery of essential commodities across the state.

Departmental officials and representatives of the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) briefed the Minister on the current status of the initiative. Emphasising the importance of uninterrupted supplies, Rai directed all stakeholders to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive masur dal and sugar on time. He also instructed officials and NAFED representatives to strengthen coordination, streamline operational processes and strictly adhere to the prescribed timelines. The Minister said that efficient planning and close collaboration among all agencies are essential to reinforcing the supply chain and ensuring that essential food items reach beneficiaries without delay under the NFSA.
