IIT Guwahati to Award 2,266 Degrees at 28th Convocation on July 12, ANRF CEO to Attend as Chief Guest

The 28th convocation of the Indian Institute of Technology-Guwahati will be held on July 12 with Dr. Shivkumar Kalyanaraman, chief executive officer of Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) as chief guest.
This year, the Institute will award 2266 degrees to its graduating class.
An official statement issued on Friday said four Gold Medals, including President’s Gold Medal, Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal, and Governor of Assam Gold Medals for both undergraduate and postgraduate categories, will be conferred during the convocation.
Speaking about the 28th Convocation event at IIT Guwahati, Prof. Devendra Jalihal, director, IIT Guwahati, said, “IIT Guwahati’s 28th Convocation is a testament to the Institute’s growing impact in science, technology and nation-building. We are honoured to welcome Dr. Shivkumar Kalyanaraman as our chief guest.”
“We are confident that his experiences will encourage our graduating class to work towards nation-building and serve society with integrity and a steadfast commitment to excellence,” Dr Jalihal said.
From its first convocation in 1999, when 63 students graduated, IIT Guwahati has reached remarkable milestones. Over the past 27 years, more than 26,790 students have been conferred degrees at IIT Guwahati.
