Riding on bowling strength, Rajasthan defeated Bengaluru by 40 runs. Batting first after losing the toss, Rajasthan scored 190 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs.
For Rajasthan, Yashasvi Jaiswal (60), Sanju Samson (58), Shimron Hetmyer (30), and Riyan Parag (20) were the main scorers. In reply, Bengaluru were all out for 150 runs in 18.2 overs.
For Bengaluru, Virat Kohli scored 45, Faf du Plessis 38, and Glenn Maxwell 25 runs. No other batter could reach double figures.
For Rajasthan, Ravichandran Ashwin took 3 wickets for 22 runs and Yuzvendra Chahal took 3 for 25. Trent Boult took 2 for 28 and Sandeep Sharma took 2 for 32. Ravindra Jadeja was outstanding, taking 1 wicket for just 12 runs in 4 overs and affecting a run out.
After the match, Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson said, “The bowlers won us the match today. Taking wickets at regular intervals made the job easy.” Player of the Match Ravichandran Ashwin said, “The plan was to bowl in the right areas. It worked out.”
With this win, Rajasthan moved to the top of the points table. This is Bengaluru’s fourth loss in six matches.
