Sikkim Poor Housing Scheme: 50 Beneficiaries Get New Homes in Geyzing

Sikkim Minister of Labor and Building and Housing and MLA of Yangthang Constituency Bhim Hang Limbu on Saturday inaugurated and distributed keys of houses built under Sikkim Poor Housing Scheme.
The programme organised by the Division Administrative Centre Gazing, is a significant achievement in the implementation of the state government’s important residential plan Sikkim Poor Housing Plan. The scheme is provided with safe, permanent and respectable housing to eligible beneficiaries across the state.
During the programme, Limbu distributed keys of the newly-constructed houses to 50 beneficiaries.
Earlier, he had inaugurated the houses of two beneficiaries from Darap and Tikjuk area.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister said the Sikkim Poor Housing Scheme is a symbol of strong commitment to provide safe and managed housing to every deserving family of the state government.
He said the scheme, conducted under the guidance of Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, plays an important role in strengthening the lives of financially vulnerable families.
Citing the government’s approach towards inclusive and sustainable development, the minister said housing is not just a mere housing system but also a means to provide respect, safety and renewed hope to families.
In addition, Limbu shed light on the benefits of various public welfare schemes of the state government should reach every eligible citizen.
Congratulating the beneficiaries, the Minister urged proper storage of newly-built homes and make good use of the amenities available.
