Assam’s young table tennis star Divija Paul has brought laurels to the State and the country by winning the Under-13 Girls Singles title at the WTT Youth Contender in Puerto Princesa, Philippines.
The tournament, held from September 3, concludes on Sunday.
Divija displayed outstanding form throughout the knockout stages.
In the final, she registered a convincing 3–0 victory over Li Ting Yu of Chinese Taipei to clinch the championship title.
Earlier, Divija defeated Kheann Smallman of the Philippines 3–0 in the semi-final, after overcoming Olivia Rellama of the Philippines 3–0 in the quarter-final.
Her dominant performance, winning all three knockout matches without dropping a game, marks another significant international achievement in her promising table tennis career.
The Assam Table Tennis Association on Saturday congratulated Divija on her outstanding achievement and wished her continued success in the international arena.
