Assam has secured the sixth position in the medal tally at the first Khelo India Tribal Games held in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. Among the total 31 medals won by Assam are 6 Gold, 14 Silver, and 11 Bronze.
Athletes from 25 states and five Union Territories participated in the competition. Assam competed in Athletics, Archery, Kho-Kho, and Swimming. Collectively, the swimmers delivered an excellent performance, winning a total of 26 medals. Archery contributed 11 medals, including 1 Gold and 4 Silver. Arunachal Pradesh secured the 5th position with 12 medals: 4 Gold, 5 Silver, and 3 Bronze.
Performance of Other Northeast States
The Northeast region performed impressively, securing a combined total of 61 medals. Here is the breakdown for other states:
Manipur Finished in 24th place with only 1 Silver medal. Mizoram Ranked 7th with 7 medals (2 Gold, 2 Silver, 3 Bronze). Nagaland Ranked 12th with 9 medals (2 Gold, 7 Bronze).
Tripura Ranked 21st with only 1 Bronze medal.
The competition featured a total of 7 events: Athletics, Football, Hockey, Swimming, Archery, Kho-Kho, and Kabaddi. Karnataka topped the overall standings with 68 medals (21 Gold, 15 Silver, and 32 Bronze). Odisha secured the second position with 57 medals (21 Gold, 15 Silver, and 21 Bronze).
The host state, Chhattisgarh, finished in third place with 35 medals.
