Asian Boxing Championships Lovlina, Ankushita Get ‘Bye’ In First Round

Lovlina Borgohain and Ankushita Boro have advanced past the first-round hurdle without having to play in the Asian Boxing Championships, which began today in Mongolia. Lovlina, competing in the 75 kg category, and Ankushita, in the 66 kg category, have both received a ‘bye’ in the first round.
In addition to these two “daughters of Assam,” other boxers including Nikhat Zareen, Jasmine, Arundhati Choudhary, and Alfiya Pathan have also received byes.
Meanwhile, in the 54 kg category, Preeti Pawar defeated Elina Bazarova of Kazakhstan with a score of 5-0 today to enter the second round.
