Ahead Of Aug 7 Release, ‘O My Dog’ Receives Heartwarming Response In Guwahati

Ahead of its theatrical release on August 7, director Amit Rai’s new family film ‘O My Dog’ had a special screening in Guwahati. A major portion of the film was shot in Guwahati, which makes this screening particularly special for director Amit Rai and the entire team.

As part of a nationwide audience connect tour, the special screening saw people of Guwahati welcome the film with great enthusiasm. The film’s touching and emotional story, along with scenes depicting love for animals, deeply moved the audience. A large part of ‘O My Dog’ was filmed in Guwahati. Viewers felt a strong connection with the film’s emotional narrative, humanity, and its presentation as a wholesome family entertainer. This has further strengthened the filmmakers’ belief that positive word-of-mouth will play a crucial role in the film’s success.

Speaking about the screening, director Amit Rai said, “Guwahati is not just a shooting location for us, it is like the soul of this film. The love and warmth of the people of Assam is reflected in the film. It was truly joyful to see the laughter and emotions of the Guwahati audience. Bringing the film back to this city before its release feels like coming home.”

This special screening in Guwahati is part of a larger audience connect campaign being held across the country. The campaign has already been successfully held in Indore, Delhi, Pune, Lucknow, Patna, and Kolkata. In the coming days, similar special screenings will also be organized in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, and Mumbai.

Like ‘The Lunchbox’ and ‘Laapataa Ladies’, the film is being released nationwide based on direct audience appreciation.

Produced by Amit Rai, Rajesh Bhardwaj, and Sana Warsi under the banners of Babulal Biscop and Thinking Hats Entertainment, ‘O My Dog’ stars Mahi Rai, Pankaj Tripathi, Geeta Agarwal Sharma, Rajesh Kumar, Pawan Malhotra, Sulakshana Baruah, Vijay Mishra, along with canine stars Oscar and Bruno. Over 250 dogs also feature in the film.

The film will release nationwide in theaters on August 7.
