E-rickshaw driver’s son from Kokrajhar cracks NEET UG 2026 with 502 marks

Overcoming financial hardship through determination and hard work, Bijit Ray, son of an e-rickshaw driver from Balajan Tiniali in Assam’s Kokrajhar district, has qualified the NEET UG 2026 examination by securing an impressive 502 marks.

Bijit, son of Gobinda Ray and Hira Ray, has emerged as a symbol of perseverance, inspiring students across the region. His success has been widely celebrated by local residents, who described the achievement as a proud moment for the entire community.

Gobinda Ray supports his family by driving an e-rickshaw while also working as a daily wage labourer and cultivating farmland to make ends meet. Despite severe financial constraints, the family remained committed to ensuring Bijit received a proper education.

Speaking after the declaration of the results, Bijit encouraged other students to stay dedicated to their goals.

“Study sincerely, work hard and believe in yourself. Success will surely come,” he said.

Family members said Bijit’s parents were unfamiliar with the NEET examination and its significance, but they never wavered in supporting their son’s academic aspirations.

His remarkable achievement has become an inspiration in Kokrajhar, reaffirming that dedication, perseverance and self-belief can help overcome even the toughest financial challenges.
