Amid the enthusiasm of Independence Day, a special sand sculpture carrying the message of patriotism and national unity has caught the attention of people across the country. On Friday, Padma Shri honoured sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik created this special artwork on Puri beach to mark India’s 80th Independence Day.
The 7-foot tall sand sculpture carries the message “Happy Independence Day, Unity In Diversity”. The Indian Tricolour has been given place at the centre of it. The two peacocks on either side reflect the theme as symbols of the country’s rich cultural heritage, beauty and unity.
Students of the Sudarsan Sand Art Institute also helped in creating this artwork. While the saffron colour of the Tricolour represents courage and sacrifice, white represents peace and truth, and green represents prosperity and progress, the Ashoka Chakra stands as a symbol of justice and continuous progress.
On this occasion, Sudarsan Pattnaik said, “On the occasion of India’s 80th Independence Day, I extend my heartfelt greetings to every Indian. Through this sand sculpture, I want to celebrate the spirit of freedom, unity and patriotism.”
He further said, “The Tricolour always inspires us to remain united. We must work together to build a strong, peaceful and prosperous India.”
