Monster gaming beast: iQOO 15T to launch soon on May 20 with 8,000mAh battery and Monster chipset

The smartphone world is abuzz with excitement as iQOO is all set to launch its latest performance-centric flagship, the iQOO 15T on May 20, 2026. The device is set to be a literal “monster” in the gaming segment, as premature database listings from China Telecom and reputable tipsters suggest. Rumor has it that it packs the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Monster Edition under the hood which is a specially tuned version of the flagship SoC for higher sustained clock speeds. The powerhouse is further bolstered by iQOO’s self-developed Q3 gaming chip that ensures frame interpolation and AI-driven performance layering. Early benchmark leaks already paint a formidable picture, with the device holding a rock-solid 60.2fps in Genshin Impact at extreme settings for 30 minutes, all while consuming a remarkably low 4.99W of power.

But the star of the iQOO 15T’s show is its massive 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which promises multi-day endurance for even the most power-hungry users. The device supports 100W wired fast charging to keep the downtime to a minimum but it seems like reports suggest that wireless charging has been omitted to keep the phone’s relatively slim 8.25mm profile. You get a 6.82-inch flat 2K OLED display for the visuals, with a blistering 144Hz refresh rate, and every motion is fluid in every scenario. The camera setup is equally ambitious, with a 200MP Samsung HP5 sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide lens, in a minimal square module on the back.

The 15T will be offered in five configurations, starting at 8GB/256GB and going up to a hefty 16GB/512GB (some rumors even mention a 1TB variant). It will be launched alongside the iQOO Pad 6 Pro and the TWS 5i earbuds. The phone will come in three different variants – the white BMW-inspired Legendary Edition, a racing-themed Track Edition and a calm light blue Qingyun variant. The iQOO 15T is launching with Android 16 and OriginOS 6 out of the box, and it looks to be a no-compromise choice for users who won’t compromise on battery life or gaming stability. Pre-orders are already available in China and all eyes are on the official May 20 event to see if this “monster” can really live up to its name.
