Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has described the swearing-in ceremony of the BJP government in West Bengal as a historic ‘Victory Day’ for the entire East and Northeast India. He made this significant remark to the media before departing to attend the event, which will be held in Kolkata on Saturday. He expressed hope that with the formation of the BJP government in Bengal, a new political stability will come across the entire region.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with central ministers and chief ministers of 21 states in the country, are likely to be present at the swearing-in ceremony in Kolkata. The Chief Minister claims that with the BJP’s rule starting in West Bengal, the entire eastern and northeastern region, except Jharkhand, will now come under BJP or NDA control. Regarding this entire change, Himanta Biswa Sharma said, ‘Tomorrow will be a day of victory. The Prime Minister, central ministers, and the Chief Ministers of 21 states will be present tomorrow. From tomorrow, in the entire eastern and northeastern regions, BJP and NDA will have Chief Ministers. Except for Jharkhand, BJP will be in power in every state of this region.’
The Chief Minister also expresses optimistic remarks about the law and order in Bengal. He further said, ‘As soon as the BJP government is formed, the law and order situation in West Bengal will become normal.’ It is noteworthy that after participating in the oath-taking ceremony, he will return to Guwahati again in the evening today.
