During the recent trailer launch event for the upcoming courtroom drama Ikka, actress Dia Mirza shared a lighthearted yet genuine concern regarding a specific scene in the film. Dia revealed that the very first sequence she shot for the project required her to slap co-star Akshaye Khanna. Given Akshaye’s massive and dedicated fan base, she jokingly admitted to the audience and media that she is still terrified of the potential backlash, especially now that the moment has been prominently featured in the official trailer.
While Dia was expressing her anxiety over the scene, her co-star Sunny Deol stepped in with a witty, reassuring response that stole the show. Dropping a classic, heroic line that instantly drew cheers and applause from the crowd, Sunny playfully asked her, “Why are you so worried? You’re playing my wife in the film!” The clever reply not only eased Dia’s mock panic but also perfectly highlighted the protective and powerful nature of Sunny’s on-screen persona.
Directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra, Ikka marks a highly anticipated cinematic reunion for Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna, who previously shared the screen in the 1997 cult classic Border. The film, which also stars Tillotama Shome, features an intense face-off and is scheduled to premiere digitally on Netflix on July 10, 2026.
