State Bank of India (SBI), Guwahati Circle, reaffirmed its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by donating three vehicles to social organisations and extending financial assistance to an orphanage during a programme held at Mayfair Spring Valley Resort in Sonapur.
The event was attended by Rama Mohan Rao Amara, Managing Director (Retail Banking and Operations), along with Atul Rathi, Chief General Manager, SBI Guwahati Circle, General Managers Safal Tripathi and Abraham Selvin, and other senior officials.
The beneficiary organisations included Projonmo, Guwahati; Bharatiya Itihaas Sankalan Samiti, Guwahati; and Arunachal Vikash Parishad, Itanagar. SBI also provided financial assistance to SOS Children’s Village, Guwahati, which works for abandoned and vulnerable children.
Addressing the gathering, Rama Mohan Rao Amara said the contributions would enable the organisations to expand their services and reach more people in need. He emphasised that SBI remains committed to supporting institutions that work for the welfare of underprivileged communities and specially-abled children.
Highlighting the bank’s CSR philosophy, he stated that social responsibility is deeply embedded in SBI’s values. He noted that the bank allocates significant resources to CSR initiatives every year, viewing them not merely as a corporate obligation but as an opportunity to create meaningful and lasting social impact.
