Outreach Programme For Veeranganas And Next Of Kin Held By Indian Army At Amingaon

Under the aegis of HQ 51 Sub Area, an outreach programme for Veeranganas and Next of Kin (NOKs) of soldiers categorized as physical casualties was successfully conducted at Amingaon on 24 June 2026. The event was organized by 236 IWT in collaboration with the Rajya Sainik Board, Assam, and Assam Regimental Centre (ARC) Records.
The initiative aimed at addressing documentation-related issues and ensuring that beneficiaries receive their rightful financial entitlements and welfare benefits. A total of 122 Veeranganas and NOKs from Kamrup (Rural), Nalbari and adjoining districts participated in the programme.
During the event, officials addressed a range of welfare-related matters, including pension status, one-time grant claims, ECHS card-related issues, and details concerning dependent children and specially abled family members. Dedicated registration and grievance cells were established to facilitate speedy resolution of concerns.
To provide immediate assistance, a Mini Records Office was set up by Assam Regimental Centre Records, Shillong, enabling on-the-spot redressal of documentation and records-related issues. A comprehensive data-sheet registration process was also undertaken to verify entitlements and ensure that beneficiaries were fully aware of the benefits available to them.
A key highlight of the programme was the one-to-one interaction sessions, where Veeranganas and NOKs directly engaged with senior military and welfare officials, including representatives from HQ 51 Sub Area, the Family Welfare Organisation, Rajya Sainik Board Assam and the Zila Sainik Welfare Office. These interactions helped address individual grievances and strengthen the support framework for beneficiaries.
The outreach programme reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment to the welfare of Veeranganas and families of soldiers by ensuring timely assistance, transparent grievance redressal and enhanced awareness of welfare entitlements.
