Mizoram Govt Announces ₹25 Lakh Reward Each for Hockey Stars Lalremsiami and Lalthantluangi

A new golden chapter has been added to Indian sports history on Japanese soil. In the final of the women’s hockey at the Asian Games held in Aichi-Nagoya, the Indian women’s team clinched the gold medal by defeating powerful China by a solitary goal. Two talented players from Mizoram, Lalremsiami and Lalthantluangi, shone as the pillars of the team that brought this historic glory to the country.

Elated by the unforgettable success of these two sports stars, the Mizoram government has announced a cash reward of ₹25 lakh each.

These two players, who first started dreaming with hockey sticks in their own state, later developed themselves into international-standard athletes through rigorous practice at the Thenzawl Hockey Academy. Sports Minister Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar stated that this reward is being presented under the State Sports Incentive Scheme in honour of their relentless journey. He mentioned that the state government is extremely proud of the achievement of these two players who have made the entire country and Mizoram proud on the world stage.

Meanwhile, there is great enthusiasm in Aizawl to welcome the two gold-winning athletes back home. After they land at Lengpui Airport at 1:30 PM today, the administration and sports-loving public will give them a massive public reception. Immediately after that, at 3:00 PM, a special programme has been organised by the state government at the R. Dengthuama Hall in Mualpui Salem Veng, where Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma will be present to officially honour these two “Gold Daughters” on behalf of the people of the state.
