Kohli’s Historic 9000: RCB Crushes DC by 10 Wickets in Record Time

Virat Kohli etched his name in IPL history, becoming the first batter to cross the 9000-run mark, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru steamrolled to a convincing 10-wicket win over Delhi Capitals. The masterful chase at Delhi’s iconic ground was led by Kohli’s explosive finish, as he sealed the deal with two successive sixes.

RCB’s dominance began with a rock-solid bowling performance, as Josh Hazlewood (4/12) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3/5) dismantled DC’s batting lineup, restricting them to a paltry 75 in 16.3 overs. Abishek Porel (30) and David Miller (19) offered some resistance, but it wasn’t enough to trouble RCB’s bowlers.

In response, RCB’s openers cruised to the target, with Jacob Bethell (20 off 10) and Devdutt Padikkal (34* off 13) laying the foundation. Kohli joined the party, finishing with two thunderous sixes to seal the win in just 6.3 overs.

This victory propels RCB to second place on the table with 12 points from eight matches. DC, on the other hand, slipped to seventh with three wins and five defeats.

Kohli’s stats are awe-inspiring: 9,012 runs, 40.05 avg, 133.05 SR, 8 tons, and 66 fifties. He’s also fourth in the Orange Cap race with 351 runs in eight innings at 58.50 avg and 162.50 SR, including three fifties. Earlier this season, Kohli crossed 800 fours in the IPL and became the first player to achieve 800 fours and 300 sixes for a single franchise.
