Guwahati Dominates Tinsukia in Nuruddin Ahmed Trophy Semifinal

Guwahati has established a commanding position over Tinsukia following the second day of their semifinal clash in the Nuruddin Ahmed Trophy Senior Inter-District Cricket Tournament 2026-27 Elite Group. The match, held at the ACA Cricket Stadium in Umrangso, saw Guwahati take firm control despite weather-related disruptions. The day began with Tinsukia resuming their first innings at a precarious 93 for six after rain had halted play on the opening day. Guwahati’s bowling attack wasted no time, bowling out Tinsukia for just 98 runs in 41.1 overs. Raj Agarwal led the scoring with 29 runs. Kunal Sarma and Ayushman Malakar were lethal, each claiming four wickets. Sarma finished with exceptional figures of 4 for 15, while Malakar secured 4 for 28.
In response, Guwahati’s batsmen capitalized on their momentum, posting a total of 247 runs in 62.3 overs. This performance granted them a significant first-innings lead of 149 runs. Pradyun Saikia anchored the innings with a stellar 90 runs, supported by Akash Sengupta who added 36. Tinsukia’s Raj Agarwal stood out with the ball, taking an impressive 6 for 101, while Subham Kumar Gupta chipped in with 2 for 27. Tinsukia began their second innings facing a massive deficit but struggled to find their footing before the day was cut short. Tinsukia reached 8 for one in five overs at the close of play. They currently trail Guwahati by 141 runs. Play was officially halted at 4:40 pm due to deteriorating light conditions, and stumps were called at 5 pm when no further action was possible.
