Assam Rifles Secures Surrender of Seven Rebels in Dimapur

As a result of persistent persuasion and efforts of the Assam Rifles, seven cadres of different insurgent groups in Nagaland surrendered at Dimapur.

Assam Rifles said that based on specific intelligence inputs, it conducted sustained outreach and coordination efforts in Dimapur to encourage misguided youth involved with various factions to return to the mainstream.

“As a result, seven hardcore anti-national elements (ANE) surrendered at Dimapur Police Station on Thursday in the presence of Assam Rifles and other security agencies,” it added.

The surrendered cadres deposited multiple weapons, including pistols, a shotgun, a gun, and a carbine with ammunition. The surrender reflects the effectiveness of coordinated intelligence-based efforts and the Assam Rifles’ continued commitment to peace, stability, and rehabilitation in the region, an AR official said.
