The Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election recorded and overall voter turnout of 76.19 percent, official sources confirmed on Wednesday.
As per the information received from both Nagaon and Morigaon Election districts, the voter turnout from 7am until the conclusion of polling stood at 76.19 percent.
It may be noted that as per the General Observer’s observation there is no need for repoll.
Long queues of voters were witnessed at all polling stations across the constituency as citizens exercised their democratic right to vote.
Adequate security arrangements were put in place to maintain law and order, while necessary assistance and facilities were extended to senior citizens, persons with disabilities and other voters, thereby ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of the polling process.
Chief Electoral Officer, Assam, Anurag Goel, expressed his sincere gratitude to all citizens of the constituency for their active participation and cooperation.
The Chief Electoral Officer also appreciated the dedication and tireless efforts of the polling personnel, security forces and all others involved in the election process.
He stated that their commitment had made it possible to conduct the polling in a peaceful and orderly manner.
