Flavio Cobolli to Face Alexander Zverev in French Open Final Tomorrow

The men’s singles final of the 2026 French Open will be held on Sunday between Alexander Zverev and Flavio Cobolli, and both will get a chance to win the French Open for the first time. Zverev entered the final by defeating Jakub Menšík, while Cobolli secured his spot after Matteo Arnaldi withdrew from the match due to illness.

On Friday, in the first men’s singles semi-final of the French Open, Alexander Zverev defeated Czech star Jakub Menšík in four sets. In the match lasting three hours and one minute on Court Philippe-Chatrier in Paris, Alexander Zverev defeated Jakub Menšík 7-5, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3. Zverev has entered the French Open final for the second time.

After the win, Zverev said: “In the third set, Menšík started playing surprisingly well. He really reached a different level. But this is a Grand Slam. These are best of five sets. The opponent will play well. You have to deal with that. I did, and I hope to play another big match on Sunday.”

The second French Open men’s singles semi-final was heartbreaking for Matteo Arnaldi. On Friday in Paris, he had to withdraw from his match against Flavio Cobolli due to a viral illness. With Arnaldi’s withdrawal, Cobolli entered his first Grand Slam final.

On Sunday, Cobolli will face Alexander Zverev in the final. The final between Zverev and Cobolli is expected to be thrilling. Cobolli leads their ATP head-to-head series 3-1. Last year at Roland Garros, they met in the third round where Zverev won 6-2, 7-6(4), 6-1.

The 29-year-old Zverev has an excellent record in major tournaments. He finished runner-up at the 2020 US Open, lost in the Australian Open final last year, and was just one set away from winning the French Open title in 2024.
