Union minister and senior BJP leader Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday said the BJP-led NDA 3.0 government would continue to take strict action against infiltrators and protect indigenous land rights during its five-year term. “In the next five years, the NDA government will continue to take firm action against infiltrators and ensure protection of indigenous land rights. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and the strong, dynamic and people-oriented leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the wave of development will continue across every region of Assam,” Sonowal said after attending the swearing-in ceremony of the NDA 3.0 government in Guwahati in the presence of the Prime Minister, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and senior NDA leaders.
The former Assam chief minister described the NDA government’s hat-trick and the oath-taking of Himanta Biswa Sarma as chief minister for the second straight term as a historic and proud moment for the people of Assam. “I am deeply moved by the overwhelming affection, blessings and enthusiasm shown by the people during the swearing-in ceremony of the NDA 3.0 government held in Guwahati in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji and NDA leaders,” Sonowal said. I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and all members of the council of ministers,” he added.
Sonowal further said Assam would achieve new milestones in rapid growth, self-reliance and inclusive progress during the new tenure of the NDA government. “Assam will witness major progress in employment generation for youth, women’s empowerment, agriculture, industry, education, healthcare and infrastructure development,” he said. He also said the new phase of governance would further strengthen Assam’s culture, indigenous languages and the identity of its indigenous communities while reinforcing the vision of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.”
