Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shafali Verma Face Heat Over NADA’s Whereabouts Failure Notices

Indian cricket is abuzz with controversy as the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) has issued formal notices to two promising cricketers, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shafali Verma, for allegedly violating anti-doping rules. The duo, part of NADA’s Registered Testing Pool (RTP), failed to be present at their declared locations during scheduled out-of-competition tests, marking their first “whereabouts failure”.
The incidents occurred on November 7, 2025, for Shafali Verma and December 17, 2025, for Yashasvi Jaiswal, when Doping Control Officers (DCOs) arrived for testing. Despite NADA seeking explanations in February, neither player responded within the stipulated timeframe, prompting formal notices. As RTP members, Yashasvi and Shafali must provide location, accommodation, and competition schedules every three months, along with a 60-minute daily window for testing. Three whereabouts failures within 12 months can lead to a suspension of up to two years . The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been informed, and they’re looking into the matter to ensure compliance, especially with cricket’s Olympic return looming.
