Virender Sehwag’s Son Aaryavir Picked in India U19 Squad for Australia Series

Aaryavir Sehwag, son of Indian cricket legend Virender Sehwag, has earned his maiden India U19 call-up for the upcoming series against Australia. The young right-handed batter has been included in the squad for three One-Day matches, which will be played in Rajkot in September.

Aaryavir has already made a name for himself with his attacking style of batting. He recently featured for West Delhi Lions in the Delhi Premier League 2026, where his aggressive strokeplay drew comparisons with his father. The youngster had earlier attracted attention during the 2024 Cooch Behar Trophy after smashing a stunning 297 against Meghalaya.

Anvay Dravid, the son of former India captain Rahul Dravid, has also retained his place in the India U19 One-Day squad. The wicketkeeper-batter impressed during India’s U19 tour of Sri Lanka in July, scoring an important 87. However, neither Aaryavir nor Anvay has been selected for the two Multi-Day matches.

Lakshya Raichandani will captain India in the three One-Day games, with Yashbardhan Chauhan serving as vice-captain. Their roles will be reversed for the Multi-Day fixtures, with Chauhan taking over as captain and Raichandani becoming his deputy.

India will take on Australia in Rajkot on September 18, 21 and 23. The first Multi-Day match will also be held in Rajkot from September 27 to 30, followed by the second fixture in Ahmedabad from October 5 to 8.
