Organized by the GSA (Guwahati Sports Association), the Judge Field hosted the start of the Rashibala Tamuly Memorial ‘B’ Division T-20 Cricket League today. Maharana Athletic Club defeated Chandmari SC by 5 wickets in the opening match. Batting first, Chandmari SC managed to score 105 runs in 19 overs with the help of Kaushik Kakati’s 47 runs and Mridul Khan’s batting contribution.
In response, Maharana reached the target in 16.5 overs, losing 5 wickets, thanks to Mrityunjay Talukdar’s 46 runs and Bomairit Masin Sharma’s 26 runs. Kamakhya Mazumdar and Rahul Dey took 2 wickets each. Mrityunjay was named the Player of the Match.
In the second match, Satgaon Club defeated Shonbari Athletic Club. Batting first, Satgaon scored 125 runs in 19 overs, aided by Ajit Rajbanshi’s unbeaten 26 runs. Team Shonbari managed only 83 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Shonbari’s innings saw 25 runs from Tirthankar Das, while Jagjit Singh took 3 wickets and Hemanga took 2 wickets for Satgaon. Kunal Roy was named the Player of the Match for taking 4 wickets and scoring 21 runs.
