Toyota Kirloskar Motor accelerates sustainability efforts with focus on green mobility

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has taken significant strides in reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability, marking Earth Day 2025 by aligning with Toyota’s Environmental Challenge 2050. TKM’s strategy revolves around reducing carbon emissions through electrified vehicle technologies (xEVs) and clean manufacturing processes. The company aims for carbon neutrality by 2035, with ongoing efforts to integrate renewable energy across its manufacturing units and reduce emissions at every stage of production.

In terms of operational sustainability, TKM has successfully transitioned to 100% renewable grid electricity, recycled over 96% of its waste, and fulfilled 89.3% of its water needs through rainwater harvesting and recycled water. Additionally, its Green Wave Project, with the planting of over 328,000 trees, and the Ecozone initiative, which has educated over 40,000 students on environmental stewardship, play key roles in TKM’s sustainable future.

TKM’s commitment to green mobility aligns well with the preferences of the city’s environmentally conscious consumers. As electric and hybrid vehicle solutions gain traction in the region, TKM’s sustainability efforts are positioned to enhance its presence catering to a growing segment of consumers looking for cleaner, energy-efficient vehicles.
