The much-awaited film Thangaalan starring Vikram and directed by Pa Ranjith finally has a confirmed release date.
In an interview with Galatta, producer G Dhananjeyan shared that the film will release in theaters on August 15, 2024. This news has brought a lot of relief and excitement to the fans, who were eagerly waiting for updates on the release of the film.
Thangalan is a period drama based on the historical backdrop of Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) in Karnataka. The film, which was completed last year, was initially scheduled to release in January 2024, but had to be postponed several times. However, with the new release date set for August 15, anticipation is higher than ever.
Music director GV Prakash Kumar also shared an update about Thangaalan on Monday. He wrote on his Instagram Stories, “#ThangaalanBGscore done… I gave my best… What a film… Looking forward to it… And what a wonderful trailer is coming your way soon, you will be amazed. Get ready for Indian Cinema #Thangalaan @Chiyaan @Beamji @StudioGreen2.” This update has further increased the excitement among fans and cinema lovers.
After Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rule was postponed to December, trade analysts were speculating an August 15 release date. The film’s lead actor Vikram is expected to make an official announcement soon. Reports also suggest that the trailer of Thangaalan will be released in July.
Thangalan stars a stellar cast including Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathi, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Daniel Caltagirone and Harikrishnan Ambudurai. The film is jointly produced by Studio Green and Neelam Productions, with the talented crew also including writers Tamil Prabha and Azhagirial Periyavan, editor RK Selva and cinematographer A Kishore Kumar.
