Assam Minister for Public Health Engineering, Hill Areas and Barak Valley Development Krishnendu Paul reviewed the progress of two major infrastructure projects in Silchar—the new auditorium-cum-District Library and the proposed Assam Secretariat building complex for Barak Valley. Chairing a meeting with senior officials of the Cachar district administration, Paul stressed the need for timely completion of both projects and directed officials to take necessary measures to speed up construction and ensure smooth implementation. He emphasised that the development of Barak Valley must progress with greater speed, coordination and regular monitoring. The minister said completing important public infrastructure projects within the stipulated timeframe would help ensure that residents receive the intended benefits at the earliest. He also highlighted the importance of close coordination among the district administration, implementing agencies and contractors to prevent delays and maintain project schedules. The review reflects the government’s focus on strengthening public infrastructure in Barak Valley and ensuring that major development initiatives are completed efficiently and delivered to the people without unnecessary delays.
