Punjab National Bank (PNB) has contributed Rs 1.20 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Assam, to support relief and rehabilitation efforts for people affected by the recent floods across the state. The contribution reflects the bank’s continued commitment to corporate social responsibility and humanitarian assistance during times of crisis.
The cheque was formally handed over to Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma by Bijender Singh, Zonal Manager of Punjab National Bank, Guwahati Zone, during a ceremony held on Thursday. The financial assistance is expected to strengthen the state government’s ongoing initiatives to provide relief to flood-affected communities and help families recover from the widespread damage caused by the floods.
Speaking on the occasion, Bijender Singh said Punjab National Bank stands firmly with the people of Assam during this difficult period. He reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting the government’s relief and rehabilitation programmes, emphasizing that the contribution is intended to assist affected families in rebuilding their lives and restoring normalcy.
Assam has witnessed severe flooding in recent weeks, affecting thousands of families and causing significant damage to homes, infrastructure, and agricultural land.
