Numaligarh Refinery Branch Xahitya Xabha Organises Relief for Flood-Affected Schoolchildren

Demonstrating its commitment to social responsibility and community welfare, the Numaligarh Refinery Branch Xahitya Xabha organised a relief distribution programme on Monday for students from flood-affected villages in Assam’s Sivasagar district.

The initiative covered the villages of Katonipar Satra, Dilehi Gosai Gaon, Betbari Da-Gaon, and Betbari Changmai Gaon, where many families continue to recover from the impact of the recent floods. To support students in resuming their education, the organisation distributed essential educational materials, including school bags, notebooks, pens, pencils, geometry boxes, and food items.

The programme aimed to reduce the hardships faced by children whose studies were disrupted by the floods. Organisers said the assistance would help students return to school with the basic learning materials they need while also providing immediate relief to affected families.

The distribution programme was attended by Ajit Kumar Das, Vice-President of the Numaligarh Refinery Branch Xahitya Xabha, Secretary Pranabjyoti Saikia, and members Pranab Hazarika, Apurba Majumdar, Ananta Baruah, and Sunil Kowar. They actively participated in the event and interacted with students and local residents.

The initiative reflects the organisation’s continued dedication to supporting communities during times of crisis and ensuring that children affected by natural disasters can continue their education without prolonged interruption.
