Mumbai Indians Storm to 6-Wicket Victory Behind Rohit-Rickelton Firepower

After Virat Kohli, it’s now Rohit Sharma’s turn. The two former captains of Team India have shown that they still have much to contribute to the national team. They are fully prepared to play in the upcoming One Day World Cup. Following Virat’s match-winning innings for RCB at the Chinnaswamy Stadium yesterday, Rohit shone at the Wankhede today.
Partnering with Ryan Rickelton, Rohit left the Kolkata Knight Riders bewildered today. Aided by the explosive batting of the two openers, Mumbai Indians started their current IPL campaign with a comfortable 6-wicket victory.
Batting first in the match, Kolkata scored 220 runs for the loss of four wickets. Ajinkya Rahane scored 67, Angkrish Raghuvanshi 51, and Finn Allen made 37 runs. Mumbai’s Shardul Thakur claimed three wickets.
In response, Mumbai reached the target in 19.1 overs after losing four wickets, thanks to Rickelton’s 81 and Rohit’s 78. The opening duo put together a partnership of 148 runs. Shardul was named the Player of the Match.
