Minister Jayant Chaudhary sets course for enhanced skill development strategy

Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Jayant Chaudhary, spearheaded a comprehensive review of the ministry’s initiatives and divisions today, aimed at fortifying strategic direction and operational efficiency in skill development across India.

Beginning with a collaborative approach, Minister Chaudhary engaged directly with ministry personnel over a shared meal at the office canteen, fostering an open dialogue and gaining valuable insights into frontline challenges. This personal interaction underscored his commitment to grassroots engagement and informed decision-making.Throughout the day, Minister Chaudhary convened with senior officials and industry stakeholders to assess the impact of MSDE programs, emphasizing their pivotal role in addressing the nation’s skill gap and fostering a conducive environment for innovation-driven employment.

Key priorities highlighted during the discussions included enhancing Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), expanding the scope of the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), and operationalizing Indian Institutes of Skills (IIS) and Skill India International Centres. The Minister emphasized the importance of targeted vocational training, particularly in underserved communities and emerging market sectors.
