In Dibrugarh, the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan was introduced to empower farmers

By initiating the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan in Dibrugarh, Assam Cabinet Minister Atul Bora began a 15-day national drive to modernize Indian agriculture. In front of Cabinet Minister Bimal Borah, Dibrugarh District Commissioner Bikram Kairi (IAS), Dibrugarh University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jiten Hazarika, and senior representatives from the departments of agriculture, fisheries, animal husbandry, dairy, and other related fields, Minister Bora ceremoniously flagged off two campaign vehicles at the inauguration event, which took place at Mancotta Field.

The initiative in Dibrugarh is supported by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Romai, and district-level organizations such as the Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM), Agriculture, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, and Dairy Development. Through outreach and awareness initiatives, it plans to personally interact with around 10,400 farmers throughout the district. About 1.5 crore farmers are to be reached by the nationwide program, which was started by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare in partnership with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE).

With more than 2,000 scientific teams spread over more than 700 districts, the campaign aims to promote contemporary farming methods, spread knowledge about government initiatives, and get input and recommendations from farmers at the local level.
