ICICI Prudential eases claim settlement process for Assam flood victims

ICICI Prudential Life Insurance has introduced a simplified claim settlement process for nominees and beneficiaries of policyholders affected by the devastating floods in Assam, requiring only three basic documents to expedite financial assistance to bereaved families. The move is aimed at ensuring faster disbursal of insurance claims during the ongoing humanitarian crisis.

Under the revised process, claimants can submit a death certificate or any record issued by government, hospital or police authorities, or proof of compensation paid by Central or State government agencies as evidence of death. Nominees are also required to provide their bank account details with IFSC code or a cancelled cheque, along with valid KYC documents. To support customers, the insurer has activated a dedicated 24×7 ClaimCare toll-free helpline (1800-2660). Claims can also be lodged by emailing [claimsupport@iciciprulife.com](mailto:claimsupport@iciciprulife.com), sending ICLAIM <space> Policy Number to 56767, or through the company’s website.

Sarang Gokhale, Chief – Underwriting & Retail Claims, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, said the company stands in solidarity with flood-affected families and is committed to settling all eligible death claims swiftly. He said the insurer’s industry-leading claim settlement ratio stood at 99.3 per cent in Q1 FY2027, with an average claim settlement turnaround time of just one day, reflecting its focus on customer service during emergencies.

In Dibrugarh, the initiative is expected to strengthen confidence in life insurance across Upper Assam, where flood-related losses have heightened awareness about financial protection. Easier documentation, multiple digital claim submission channels and faster settlements are likely to benefit policyholders and nominees in Dibrugarh and nearby districts, while reinforcing the role of insurance as a crucial financial safeguard during natural disasters.
