During his visit to Baksa district, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that around 1.8 lakh households will benefit from key state welfare schemes. After a review meeting with BTC members and officials, he shared that Orunodoi scheme coverage in Baksa has risen from 45,000 to 60,000 families. Over 60,000 women from Baksa and Manas have been selected under the Mahila Udyomita scheme. Under the Mukhya Mantri Atmanirbhar Assam initiative, 1,200 youths will receive Rs 2 lakh each this year, building on last year’s success, where 400 youths received Rs 1 lakh. Many have now accessed further funding and report earnings up to Rs 6 lakh annually. Additionally, 4,000 new ration cards will be issued, and the Eti Koli Duti Paat scheme for tea estate workers is being reviewed. All schemes will roll out this month.
