CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Announces Four Leaders to Take Oath as Assam Ministers

Four newly elected MLAs of the NDA will take oath as ministers along with chief minister designate Himanta Biswa Sarma during the swearing-in ceremony at Khanapara in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday. The leaders named for induction into the Assam Council of Ministers are Rameswar Teli, Atul Bora, Charan Boro and Ajanta Neog. “Happy to announce that the following four colleagues of mine will take oath as ministers tomorrow along with me in the august presence of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. They are Shri Rameswar Teli, Shri Atul Bora, Shri Charan Boro and Smt. Ajanta Neog, ” Sarma took to social media to announce on Monday night.

Sarma also announced that BJP MLA Ranjit Das will be the ruling alliance’s candidate for the post of Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly. “I am also happy to share that Shri Ranjit Das, Hon’ble MLA, will be our candidate for the post of Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly,” he stated. “My heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all of them. Together, we will continue to work with full dedication for a stronger, more developed and prosperous Assam,” Sarma added.

Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Guwahati on Monday night, ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of the third BJP-led NDA government in Assam. The Prime Minister was received by chief minister-designate Himanta Biswa Sarma and other BJP leaders at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport. The swearing-in ceremony, scheduled for 11.40am, will be attended by Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of 22 States, senior BJP and NDA leaders along with party workers and supporters from across the state.
