Diageo India, in collaboration with BharatCares and the Government of Assam, unveiled the TAPOVAN Elder Care Home in Sonitpur district. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Shri. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Honourable Chief Minister of Assam, who underscored the importance of such facilities in supporting vulnerable sections of society.
TAPOVAN, funded under Diageo India’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, offers a comprehensive range of amenities tailored for senior citizens. The facility includes well-equipped bedrooms, accessible washrooms, a spacious dining area, and recreational spaces, ensuring a comfortable living environment. Notably, the Elder Care Home is designed to be Persons with Disability (PwD) friendly, reflecting a commitment to inclusivity.Ashish Parikh, EVP & Chief Operating Officer, Diageo India, highlighted the company’s longstanding dedication to community welfare. “TAPOVAN marks a milestone in our efforts to promote diversity and inclusion while addressing the specific needs of elderly citizens,” he remarked during the event.
The initiative also received praise for its collaborative spirit, with local dignitaries including Shri Deba Kumar Mishra, District Commissioner of Sonitpur, and Shri.
