Instamart delivery partner in Dibrugarh supports 500 flood-affected families

Instamart has highlighted the journey of Bonita Das, one of its first delivery partners in Dibrugarh, who has combined financial independence with community service since joining the platform in May 2026.

After completing her Higher Secondary education, Das turned to delivery work following full-time jobs that required eight to nine hours a day but offered insufficient income. Flexible working hours have helped her nearly triple her earnings, contribute towards building her family’s home and save for her dream of opening a bakery specialising in cakes and pastries.

Having experienced severe floods near her family’s riverbank home between 2013 and 2015, Das recently initiated a crowdfunding drive among fellow delivery partners to support flood-hit communities. Contributions started at Rs 50 to encourage wider participation, with Instamart supplementing the funds raised.

In collaboration with a local non-governmental organisation, the team procured essential groceries, including rice, dal, milk, cooking oil and vegetables, and distributed 500 relief packages to affected families across villages in Sivasagar.

“I may be a delivery partner, but I believe we all have the power to make a difference when we come together,” Das said, highlighting the importance of collective action.

Her journey reflects how flexible livelihood opportunities can help individuals support their families, pursue personal ambitions and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
