Central Bank of India has received the first Rajbhasha Kirti Award for its implementation and promotion of Hindi as the Official Language. The award was presented at the All India Rajbhasha Conference organised by the Department of Official Language under the Ministry of Home Affairs in Navi Mumbai on September 14-15. The bank’s Managing Director and CEO, Kalyan Kumar, received the Rajbhasha Shield from Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, among others. The bank said the award recognises its sustained efforts to implement the Official Language Policy and promote Hindi across its operations. During the conference, a special Heritage Edition of the bank’s bilingual in-house magazine, Centralite, was also released, marking the completion of 100 years of the publication. The edition highlighted the bank’s heritage, growth journey and institutional values. Central Bank of India also set up an exhibition showcasing its 115-year journey, achievements in Hindi implementation, innovation initiatives and vision for modern banking and future growth. Senior bank officials and Rajbhasha officers from across the country participated in the conference.
