Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday chaired a meeting with officials and representatives of leading companies to review investment projects across key sectors, including cement, power and renewable energy. Projects and concerns involving Ambuja Cements, Star Cement, Dalmia Cement, Adani Power, SJVN Green Energy, Hinduja Group, Greenko Energies, NEEPCO and NLC India Renewables were among those discussed. Sarma sought details on challenges delaying project implementation and directed concerned government departments to take prompt and coordinated measures to resolve the issues and accelerate work. He also instructed the PWD (Roads) to ensure quality road connectivity to project sites wherever required, stressing that inadequate infrastructure should not hinder industrial development. The Chief Minister said the government’s priority is to convert investment commitments made under Advantage Assam 2.0 into actual projects, creating jobs, boosting economic activity and generating long-term opportunities for the people of the state. According to official records, Advantage Assam 2.0 attracted investment commitments worth ₹5,18,295 crore. Sarma’s latest review underscores the government’s efforts to strengthen the ease of doing business and ensure that committed investments translate into tangible development on the ground.
