Bajaj Life Insurance fast-tracks claims support for Assam flood victims

Bajaj Life Insurance has rolled out a special claims assistance programme for policyholders affected by the floods in Assam, introducing a simplified claims settlement process to ensure faster financial support for bereaved families in the affected districts of Sivasagar, Charaideo, Jorhat and Golaghat. The private life insurer said it has established a dedicated claims settlement desk and accorded the highest priority to eligible death claims arising from the flood situation. The initiative is aimed at easing the claim process for affected families by reducing documentation requirements and expediting settlements.

Under the simplified process, nominees or legal heirs are required to submit proof of death due to floods issued by the local municipal authority, designated government officials or hospital authorities, along with a claim intimation form, bank account details and KYC documents. Where a death certificate is not immediately available, the company said claims will also be accepted based on official lists issued by hospitals, police, armed forces or State and Central government authorities, wherever applicable.Policyholders and nominees can access support through Bajaj Life Insurance’s customer care helpline, nearest branch, email or the designated nodal officer.

Bajaj Life Insurance, formerly Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, serves more than 3.47 crore customers through 598 branches and over 1.61 lakh insurance consultants. As of May 31, 2026, the company managed assets exceeding Rs 1.40 lakh crore, reported an individual claim settlement ratio of 99.33 per cent for FY2025-26 and maintained a solvency ratio of 266 per cent as of March 31, 2026.
