Telecom infrastructure company Indus Towers has expanded its corporate social responsibility (CSR) outreach in Assam, extending flood relief assistance to around 1,100 affected families across Charaideo, Sivasagar and Jorhat districts as part of its flagship Pragatiprogramme.
The relief operation was conducted through distribution centres in Sonari and Teok, where families received comprehensive support kits containing dry rations, WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) supplies and essential medical items. The company also distributed customised kits for pregnant women, new mothers and children aged between six months and two years, addressing the needs of vulnerable groups affected by the floods.
RajenderGurung, Circle CEO (NESA), Indus Towers Limited, said the floods had severely disrupted access to food, healthcare and other basic necessities for thousands of families. He said the company remained committed to supporting recovery and strengthening community resilience across the Northeast. Employees of Indus Towers also visited the affected areas during the relief drive, while implementation support was provided by the Northeast Affected Area Development Society (NEAID). The initiative follows the company’s recent flood relief efforts in Arunachal Pradesh.
In Dibrugarh, the CSR initiative highlights the growing role of private sector participation in disaster response across Upper Assam. As Dibrugarh serves as a key commercial and logistics hub for the region, sustained corporate interventions are expected to complement public relief efforts, support local supply chains for essential commodities and healthcare products, and reinforce business confidence by promoting community resilience during natural disasters.
