Rabindranath Thakur Vishwavidyalaya (RTV) continues to strengthen skill-based and experiential education through its Rural Technology Park and Incubation Centre (RTPIC) in Hojai. As part of its Summer Skill Development Internship Programme, the university is providing practical training to students from various higher educational institutions across the district, helping them develop industry-relevant knowledge and improve their employability.
The internship programme features a series of interactive academic and professional sessions designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world experience. University officials said the initiative aims to equip students with practical skills that will prepare them for diverse career opportunities.
The university’s efforts recently received appreciation from Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya during a meeting at Raj Bhavan with Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Manabendra Dutta Choudhury. The Governor commended the institution for successfully integrating higher education with skill development, entrepreneurship and rural development through the RTPIC initiative.
As part of the ongoing internship programme, a special lecture-cum-practical training session on Public Relations and Journalism was held on Friday at Bharat Tirtha Bhavan, located within the university’s Srimanta Sankardeva Campus. The session offered participants valuable insights into media communication, public relations strategies and the fundamentals of journalism.
University authorities said such initiatives will continue to empower students with practical expertise, strengthen professional competencies and prepare a skilled workforce capable of contributing to the state’s social and economic development.
