In a significant step towards enhancing passenger amenities and modernising railway infrastructure, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has commissioned architectural facade lighting at Lumding Railway Station, transforming it into a visually striking landmark and improving its night-time visibility and ambience.
The project involves the installation of energy-efficient RGB LED facade lighting fixtures with programmable illumination effects, providing uniform lighting across the station frontage, domes, columns and other architectural elevations.
Weatherproof outdoor fittings and cabling have also been provided to ensure reliable operation under all weather conditions.
The newly installed lighting system not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the station but also promotes sustainable and eco-friendly infrastructure through the use of long-life LED technology, which is expected to reduce maintenance requirements while ensuring efficient illumination.
With its vibrant illuminated appearance, Lumding Junction has emerged as a distinctive landmark of Northeast Frontier Railway, reflecting NFR’s commitment to providing world-class infrastructure and enriching the overall passenger experience.
“The architectural facade lighting project forms part of NFR’s continuous efforts to blend functionality with aesthetic excellence and create railway stations that are modern, sustainable and visually appealing. The illuminated station has added a distinct identity to Lumding Junction, enhancing the travel experience while promoting eco-friendly and passenger-centric infrastructure,” NFR Chief Public Relations Officer, Kapinjal Kishore Sharma said.
