At a time when petrol and diesel prices are rising, the demand for electric scooters in the Indian market has begun to surge. Recently, a rise in demand for e-scooters has been observed not only in metro cities but also in the country’s small towns and rural areas. According to people associated with this sector, the demand for such scooters has been growing rapidly in small towns and urban areas of the country over the past few months.
This rise in demand for e-scooters is primarily driven by escalating fuel prices, growing consumer confidence, and a mindset favoring electric vehicles as a practical alternative mobility option.
“Over the last two to three quarters, consumer interest in electric scooters has increased. Especially in Tier-2, Tier-3, and Tier-4 cities, we have been able to receive a special response from customers,” said Ravneet S. Phokela, Chief Business Officer of the energy firm Ather.
