To meet the growing demand for mobile-first, short-form video content, global telecommunications company Vi (Vodafone Idea) today announced its partnership with Bullet to launch a dedicated micro-drama section on the Vi Movies & TV app. For the first time, users will be able to enjoy Bullet’s micro-dramas in high-definition (HD) and vertical formats directly within the Vi app. This move aims to capture the interest of India’s smartphone-savvy viewers, where the popularity of micro-dramas is rapidly increasing.
According to reports, in the first quarter of 2025, micro-drama platforms saw a total download increase of 31% globally. In India, the micro-drama market is expected to grow from $1.5 billion this year to $4.5 billion by 2033. This development marks the second and third categories of growth in the country’s digital market. Micro-dramas (including romance, drama, and thrillers) are expected to become a major attraction for comedy and serial-style content in the future.
