Inter Milan on the Brink of Glory: Scudetto Within Reach Before Parma Showdown

The Italian football landscape is bracing for a potential coronation this weekend. Inter Milan stands on the threshold of securing the Serie A title, a feat they could achieve even before the first whistle blows in their Sunday match against Parma.
The Path to the Title
Under the guidance of manager Cristian Chivu, Inter has established a dominant position in the league: They currently hold a 10-point cushion over Napoli and sit 12 points clear of rivals AC Milan with only four rounds of fixtures remaining. A victory at home would mathematically clinch the title. However, they could be crowned champions even earlier if Napoli falls to Como and AC Milan fails to secure a win against Sassuolo.
This would mark the first major trophy for Chivu as a manager, who ironically previously had a brief tenure at Parma. Chivu credited the team’s success to their “consistency and attacking output”.
Inter is also eyeing a “Domestic Double,” with a high-stakes Coppa Italia final against Lazio scheduled for May 13.
The Race for Europe and Survival While the top spot seems settled, the rest of the table is in a state of flux: The battle for the top four remains razor-thin. Fourth-placed Juventus is merely three points ahead of both Como and AS Roma. This weekend, Juventus faces Hellas Verona, while Roma takes on Fiorentina.
At the bottom of the table, Pisa faces a must-win situation against Lecce to avoid the drop. Meanwhile, Cremonese, sitting just one point behind Lecce, prepares for a difficult encounter with Lazio.
Federico Dimarco (Inter) The wing-back has been a revelation, setting a new Serie A record with 18 assists this season. Lautaro Martinez (Inter) In a major boost for the leaders, their star striker is expected to return from injury after a lengthy absence. Luka Modric (AC Milan) On a somber note, Milan will be without the veteran midfielder for the rest of the campaign following surgery on a fractured cheekbone.
