Commercial LPG Cylinders Price Reduced

Oil marketing companies (OMCs) announced a reduction in the price of commercial LPG cylinders by ₹51.50, effective from September 1. After this revision, the cost of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has been brought down to ₹1,580.

This marks the third consecutive price cut in recent months. In August, OMCs reduced the price by ₹33.50, and before that, there was a ₹58.50 cut in July. Earlier reductions this year include ₹24 in June and ₹7 in February, though March saw a slight ₹6 hike. However, the price of the 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged.

These price changes are part of OMCs’ regular monthly revisions based on international crude oil prices and other economic factors. Experts believe the latest cut offers welcome relief for commercial users like hotels, restaurants, and small businesses.

Meanwhile, the Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved a ₹300 per cylinder subsidy for PMUY beneficiaries, capped at nine refills annually for FY 2025–26. Launched in 2016, the PMUY scheme now covers around 10.33 crore households as of July 2025.
