SBI Card To Roll Out These Changes

SBI Cardholders should take note of several important changes that will come into effect from next month. Beginning September 1, reward points will no longer be earned on digital gaming and government-related transactions for users of the Lifestyle Home Centre SBI Card, SELECT, and PRIME variants.

Additionally, from September 16, 2025, all Card Protection Plan (CPP) customers will be transitioned to updated plan variants based on their renewal due dates. Customers will be notified via SMS or email at least 24 hours in advance. The revised annual charges are ₹999 for the Classic plan, ₹1,499 for Premium, and ₹1,999 for the Platinum plan. All three variants provide fraud protection coverage of up to ₹1 lakh.

Emergency travel assistance limits have also been revised: Classic offers ₹80,000, Premium ₹1.2 lakh, and Platinum ₹1.6 lakh. In terms of member coverage, the Classic plan is limited to the primary member, the Premium covers the primary member and spouse, while the Platinum plan includes the primary member, spouse, and both parents.

Furthermore, as of August 11, SBI Card discontinued the complimentary ₹1 crore air accident insurance on select ELITE cards issued through partner banks.
